Your tax dollars at work

Some doodles from the mind-numbing limbo of government clerk training classes....
Thinking of painting one of these - any favorites?

chaneyredux

When we last saw our friend the Phantom he was lookin' fine with a yellow/green background. Then I thought I could make the background a little neater and ruined it totally. He spent the next few weeks languishing in the labyrinthine waterways under my apartment, until I decided to "nuke" some candle-wax and throw it at him. I missed, but the background looks kind of alright, yeah? Anyway I promised this one to a friend in an unexpected fit of camaraderie. Will have a nice photo of it up tomorrow!

Shoggoth!

A series of eyes, as per request.

Copied from this painting by Howard V. Brown,

that I got from this blog.

I'm only about 40% happy with this one, but I'm putting it up for grabs as it is anyway. Free, even! Leave a comment if you want it!

... !

This pic doesn't really show all the color. I'll have to scan it in in a few days when it's totally dry.

Sketch time

Been a while and I haven't started a new painting yet, so here's a sketch I did last week of the wife. The rest of it sucks, so you don't get to see it. Sorry.

It was going really well until this happened.

Bunsen

The hands are supposed to look like that.

Update 2/6: I'm not really into this one. Anyone want it? $20 or I white it out. It's your call here, kids.

Larry the Space Octopus

glows patiently in the dark. Learned a few things on this one, like: do the background first.

Blue Guy w/ Bees

1st try at acrylics, done late 2009. Added some glow-in-the-dark paint in '10 for extra niftyness!
